It’s hard to believe but thanks to the lessons shared by New Orleans-based educator Chelsea Hylton, the idea of living that life is very much possible.

Chelsea’s the founder of Project Peaceful Warriors, a nonprofit organization developed to bring the tools of trauma, informed Yoga, and mindfulness to students and educators. Since 2009, Chelsea has served students as well as schools through Yoga and mindfulness starting in Charleston, South Carolina where she received her BS degree in Physical Education. Upon moving to New Orleans in 2014 she began working with Charter Schools–specifically within the recovery school district where she served as both a K to 6 enrichment and middle school English teacher.

As a teacher, Chelsea gained invaluable communication skills and learned pedagogical practices that continue to influence the way she trains and approaches her work with youth today. Chelsea strives to develop community-minded user-centered programming to create safe and healthy learning environments in schools so that all students have equitable access to tools they need for success.
